Kapal Satu was built in 2011 by the skilled craftsmen from Bira, Southern Sulawesi, following the centuries-old traditions of the Bugis tribe. Our two-mast sailboat, known as a ‘Phinisi,’ is inspired by the Dutch Clipper vessels of years past. Crafted by hand from ironwood and teak, the Bugis master boat builders have been crafting these iconic boats for centuries.
The hull of Kapal Satu is made from durable ironwood, while the interiors are finished with rich teak, giving the vessel a total weight of over 169 gross tons. Designed and managed by experienced divers, Kapal Satu prioritizes comfort and practicality, featuring a dedicated dive platform at the rear.
For a more peaceful journey, the engine room is isolated from the cabins with soundproofing, minimizing noise for a restful sleep. Each cabin offers en-suite facilities, climate control, natural light, and stunning views of the surrounding seas and islands.
